The Legacy of Bill Giles With Larry Bowa, Dave Raymond, Doug Glanville and Jamie Moyer

The Heart of Sports honors the life and legacy of Bill Giles, the visionary Phillies executive whose creativity, kindness, and commitment to Philadelphia helped transform the franchise.

Phillies greats Larry Bowa, Doug Glanville, and Jamie Moyer join original friend of the Phillie Phanatic Dave Raymond to share personal stories about the man behind some of the organization’s most enduring traditions. They reflect on Giles’ unforgettable promotions at Veterans Stadium, his role in bringing the Phanatic and Harry Kalas to Philadelphia, his contributions to the 1980 championship team and the family culture he built throughout the organization.

More than a baseball executive, Giles understood that a team represents its city. This tribute celebrates an innovator who cared deeply about the players, the fans, and the community, and whose influence can still be felt throughout the Phillies organization today.
